Seal Beach is a small seaside city located at the western most part of Orange County, with Long Beach bordering it to the west. The majority of the land in Seal Beach is occupied with the Naval Weapons Station and Leisure World, an age 55 plus community. As of 2010 the population was 24,168.
Leisure World Seal Beach is an age 55 plus retirement community, it encompasses a great portion of the city. Leisure World offers one and two homes which are owned as CO-OP's. Leisure World offers a golf course, multiple sport courts and clubhouses, which offers many activities designed for seniors.
Seal Beach Homes are typical of those found in most seaside communities, ranging from small cottages to large oceanfront homes. While most of the homes in Seal Beach were built in the 1960's and 1970's, there has been a few homes re-built over the years. There is one newer development in Seal Beach, Heron Pointe is a gated development built in 2005 offering large executive homes. The city is a ideal location for people who work in Los Angeles but want to enjoy the beach life style.
